First UK Trail Centre Pump Track opens at Llandegla
The UK's very first Trail Centre 'Pump Track' is now open at Coed Llandegla in North Wales. Owned by UMP/Tilhill and operated by Oneplanet Adventure the track has been funded by UPM/Tilhill and a grant from the Forestry Commission through the Better Woodlands for Wales grant scheme. Flowing through the trees it's has a great natural feel. However It has been constructed with 'North Wales' weather in mind and it drains well to provide an all year round facility. Quite a few riders have already been up and checking out it's two 75m loops out out. The features are nice a mellow for a wide range of abilities and the more experienced riders will enjoy the transition in to the harder 'backside' loop which will only flow if you make the 6ft gap in to it's first berm. For up to date opening info check on www.coedllandegla.com The track is only 150m from the award winning Oneplanet cafe in the Visitors Centre too, so no drama with dropping back for a quick brew and a slice of 'ma' Gaffney's cake when your knackered! Work stars soon on a Freeride trail due to open in the spring 2010!
